On a Move in 2016

America is amongst some of the most obese countries in the world. In the WORLD! If you ask me, that's a problem. It doesn't matter where you are in the United States, you won't have to drive far to find a fast food place with a drive through. You know the ones I'm talking about.Sometimes, these fast food places are right across the street from each other. The sad part is, none of the fast food restaurants is hurting for business. I'm not shaming these businesses, I like to eat at some of these restaurants occasionally, why not? It's cheap, it's quick and heck, you don't even have to get out of your car! Which is exactly the problem. The way everything is being designed these days, we barely have to move a muscle. No wonder we are usually labeled as "lazy Americans".

What is my point? We have to move! I don't recommend eating at these fast food restaurants frequently, but if you absolutely must, try and get out of the car and walk inside of the restaurant and order your food. This works with me, because I know if I order a meal inside of the restaurant, being that I am a pretty big girl, I am less likely to order a large meal. In the drive through, you can order whatever you want and only feel ashamed after you've eaten your meal. So by walking inside and standing in line ( I know, it's too much) you can be burning calories, eating less and feeling less guilty afterwards. This past Christmas, I got a Fitbit and I must say, it has to be one of the best gifts I have ever received. I love how it motivates me every single day to move. Being unemployed, I didn't really realize my lack of movement during the day. With the Fitbit, it tracks my steps, my heart rate, how many miles I've walked and so much more. I actually get so excited each and every day to get up and walk, so that I can beat the amount of steps I've  walked the previous day. This is coming from a girl who hates exercise! For me, I know I am going to have to do a lot more than walking inside of a restaurant and standing in line. You know your body, you know whether you need to cut back from the fast food and start cooking at home. It costs more money, but you will benefit tremendously in the long run. If you know you have no self control (like me) try to go a different route home, that way you don't pass your favorite restaurant, or try and leave your money home so you have no choice but to take your behind home. Fast food has been around for a long time now, it's not going anywhere anytime soon. But you can make the necessary changes in your life to cut back and take one step at a time.
