5 Of My Favorite Movies

I absolutely love movies! I love going to the movies and watching them on regular TV, especially when I have someone to watch them with me. I don't really have a favorite genre, because I pretty much like them all. I have so many movies that I love in fact, that I could only come up with 5 of my absolute favorite. So go pick out your favorite cozy blankets, get your popcorn and join me in this favorite movie countdown!

5.What's Eating Gilbert Grape? (1993)

What's Eating Gilbert Grape?: Believe it or not, my fifth favorite movie happens to be almost as old as I am. The funny thing is, I just recently found this movie on Netflix. I love this movie, not just because of young Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio, but because of the story. I must say, the acting in this movie is superb. Johnny Depp plays a young man, eldest of his brothers and sisters who has to take care of his younger brother (Leonardo) because his mother is unable to, because of her weight. Johnny eventually finds love, but his home life interferes with his relationship. I encourage you to watch this unpredictable movie, it will make you laugh, and cry.

4.SHREK (2001)

David picked shrek as his favorite movie because it is very funny and makes him laugh!: My brother and I have probably watched this movie about a thousand times, no exaggeration. To tell you the truth, we both could probably watch it a thousand more and quote the entire thing while doing so; including the songs at the end. Yes, it is a kids movie, but that's the genius of this movie, it is so funny and entertaining, that adults don't mind sitting with their kids to watch it. I personally love it, because it puts a new perspective on what a Princess can look like. So it doesn't matter if you are short, tall, fat, skinny, or even Green, us ladies are all princesses and we will soon find our Shrek!

3.LAST Holiday (2006)

one of my favorites, may we all have the courage to live the life we want to live. or maybe the trick to living a wonderful life is to live like you were dying.: Queen Latifah is my girl! She has played in many movies, but this movie is my favorite that she is in. It's definitely a chick flick, but I love this movie because Queen Latifah plays a shy "plain jane" who loves to cook, but is too afraid to live out her dreams until she finds out she has months to live. With that in mind, Queen finds the courage to do everything she has ever wanted to do. Why is it, that we don't live while we are living until we feel it is near the end?

2.A Walk to Remember (2002)
Nicholas Sparks | Movies Based on Nicholas Sparks Novels:
This movie is amazingly beautiful. It is my second favorite movie, simply because it is filled with all kinds of emotions. It brings two very different high school students together. A teen  "bad boy" who is popular and thinks he will never fall in love and a teen girl who loves the Lord, is kind and sweet, but carries a huge secret. The two fall in love unexpectedly, and prove that opposites DO attract.

1.Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)

Mrs. Doubtfire: My all time favorite movie is finally here! If you are reading this, that means one of two things. You either read this whole article, or you skipped to number one. It doesn't matter, you're here and I am thankful. The late Robin Williams acts a fool in this comedy. Robin plays a recently divorced man, who shows he will do ANYTHING to keep his kids as close to him as possible, even pretending to be an older woman who is hired to be his kids nanny. This movie is a definite must see, if you haven't already. Thank you guys again for counting down with me and if you have any favorite movies, jot them down below, I would love to hear from you.

Scripture of the Week

Psalm 34:18

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

In times when we are broken up about something in our lives, know that God is with you. Nothing is too silly for you not to talk to God about it. He knows all and understands all.

On a Move in 2016

America is amongst some of the most obese countries in the world. In the WORLD! If you ask me, that's a problem. It doesn't matter where you are in the United States, you won't have to drive far to find a fast food place with a drive through. You know the ones I'm talking about.Sometimes, these fast food places are right across the street from each other. The sad part is, none of the fast food restaurants is hurting for business. I'm not shaming these businesses, I like to eat at some of these restaurants occasionally, why not? It's cheap, it's quick and heck, you don't even have to get out of your car! Which is exactly the problem. The way everything is being designed these days, we barely have to move a muscle. No wonder we are usually labeled as "lazy Americans".

What is my point? We have to move! I don't recommend eating at these fast food restaurants frequently, but if you absolutely must, try and get out of the car and walk inside of the restaurant and order your food. This works with me, because I know if I order a meal inside of the restaurant, being that I am a pretty big girl, I am less likely to order a large meal. In the drive through, you can order whatever you want and only feel ashamed after you've eaten your meal. So by walking inside and standing in line ( I know, it's too much) you can be burning calories, eating less and feeling less guilty afterwards. This past Christmas, I got a Fitbit and I must say, it has to be one of the best gifts I have ever received. I love how it motivates me every single day to move. Being unemployed, I didn't really realize my lack of movement during the day. With the Fitbit, it tracks my steps, my heart rate, how many miles I've walked and so much more. I actually get so excited each and every day to get up and walk, so that I can beat the amount of steps I've  walked the previous day. This is coming from a girl who hates exercise! For me, I know I am going to have to do a lot more than walking inside of a restaurant and standing in line. You know your body, you know whether you need to cut back from the fast food and start cooking at home. It costs more money, but you will benefit tremendously in the long run. If you know you have no self control (like me) try to go a different route home, that way you don't pass your favorite restaurant, or try and leave your money home so you have no choice but to take your behind home. Fast food has been around for a long time now, it's not going anywhere anytime soon. But you can make the necessary changes in your life to cut back and take one step at a time.
